There's a BIG gap between what's being donated from the U.S. and how the accepting third world country can effectively use the equipment!!
Our goal is to BRIDGE the GAP!!
- Currently, equipment is donated with little regard to how or IF it will ever be used!!
- Something as simple as having the proper plug installed, isn't addressed PRIOR to being shipped. Therefore, the equipment ends up in a pile of medical supplies unused collecting dust!!
- Third World Countries can't spend money they don't have on outfitting equipment they have no understanding of.
HOW do we correct the issues??
- We work with local medical staff in third world countries to figure out what their actual needs are. As well as, addressing future possibilities.
- We properly outfit each piece of equipment for the country it will be sent to.
- We coordinate the shipment of all equipment to be delivered at the same time as the team of volunteer doctors is scheduled to arrive.
- We work with the volunteer doctors in order to implement a comprehensive training program to include hands-on practice utilizing the donated equipment.
- We create instructional manuals for each piece of equipment (in the language spoken), to ensure that the country receiving will have "go to" manuals and help in furthering the educational process.
- We work to continually provide a surplus of batteries for items such as fetal heart rate monitors and more!!
- We will continue to look for ways to extend our help to third world countries in areas currently not addressed.
